I have worked nationally and internationally in theater as a performer, professor, producer for 50 years. My students have won Tony, SAG, Emmy and Academy Awards from my classes at Juilliard, NYU/Tisch, Bennington, Columbia and more. My passion for Shakespeare was fed by my studies in Stratford-on-Avon with Peter Brook, Sir Peter Hall and the Royal Shakespeare Company, my work for Joseph Papp at the New York Shakespeare Festival and as Shakespeare Consultant for Great Lakes, Idaho and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festivals.
Many of us, sadly, got the wrong impression about Shakespeare. Whether it was a high school English teacher or a bad night at the theater, we learned that Shakespeare was boring, difficult and about other people. But reading Shakespeare can be exactly the opposite. It can be exciting, easy, entertaining and about us, our families, friends and loved ones. Shakespeare contains beautiful, sweet and personal messages for how to live our lives in a productive, blessed and contented way. It's all there in his plays. Shakespeare doesn't shy away from talking about all the human issues that impact our happiness and he does so with a perspective that not only shows us how we got here but how to journey to where we want to go. All you need is an open heart and mind. A copy of the play is not necessary as I will summarize it.
Once you register, I will share a Zoom link for both group and individual meetings.
The class is available weekly on Sundays or by personal appointment.
