My name is Kimberly Hankins and I am a Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor and Breathwork Facilitator! I use my combined knowledge of yoga, kinesiology, and the nervous system to help you find relief from tension, injury, and performance anxiety [especially if you're a musician!]. I'm currently a Doctorate of Musical Arts Candidate at Arizona State University where I hope to graduate this December! 🙌 I also received a Performance Diploma in Solo Viola Repertoire, and a Master of Music Performance from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. I've been teaching yoga and group fitness for a few years, and I have a background in dance, pilates, and vinyasa. I started teaching movement + functional anatomy classes specifically for musicians in August 2019, when I co-founded the Movement for Musicians workshop series at Arizona State University. I'm a RYT200 with over 100hrs of continuing education, a Level 1 Merge: The Practice Instructor, and have a special interest in pranayama (yogic breathing practices).
I offer private sessions to those that want to explore yoga or breathwork! I am a trauma-informed yoga teacher and breathwork facilitator, and I work with you to help you reach your goals. In yoga sessions I may identify muscular imbalances and offer suggestions for how to deepen your yoga practice. I believe in the full practice of yoga, and work to integrate yoga philosophy into my classes. Pranayama is the yogic tradition of breathwork, but I also can provide Revelation Breathwork sessions.
